Lots of people think that benching hurts your shoulders but, when done correctly, it can add a ton of useable strength that transfers onto the mat and into the cage.

Bench Press Set Up and Technique:
Bench Press Cues for Success
- 7 points of contact on the bench
- Slightly narrow grip
- Pull the bar down to the chest
- Pause at the bottom - maintain tension
- Press up with speed
- Keep elbows in tight
- Do NOT overextend the shoulders at the top of the movement
